,%20but%20I%20soon%20realised%20that%20although%20it%E2%80%99s%20very%20delicious%20to%20have%20a%20big%20well%20in%20the%20top%20of%20your%20cupcake%20that%20you%20can%20fill%20with%20icing,%20that%E2%80%99s%20not%20really%20what%20they%E2%80%99re%20supposed%20to%20look%20like%20(cupcakes,%20whyyy%20do%20you%20sink%20so%20badly?!).%20So%20this%20time%20I%20decided%20I%E2%80%99d%20use%20my%20Redmond%20multicooker%20to%20help%20me%20out%20with%20my%20cake%20baking.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20shown%20you%20how%20great%20the%20multicooker%20is%20at%20making%20all%20sorts%20of%20things%20in%20the%20past,%20but%20I%20bet%20you%20didn%E2%80%99t%20know%20it%20could%20also%20bake%20cakes!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOf%20course,%20using%20an%20entirely%20different%20appliance%20does%20mean%20that%20you%20need%20to%20use%20a%20slightly%20different%20recipe%20for%20your%20cake%20%E2%80%93%20hence%20the%20four%20attempts.%20Turns%20out,%20you%20can%E2%80%99t%20just%20stick%20any%20old%20cake%20recipe%20in%20the%20multicooker%20and%20expect%20it%20to%20work.%20Buuuut,%20now%20that%20I%E2%80%99ve%20figured%20it%20out,%20it%E2%80%99ll%20be%20so%20easy%20next%20time%20%E2%80%93%20hence%20why%20I%20feel%20totally%20cool%20about%20calling%20this%20an%20%E2%80%98easy%E2%80%99%20cake%20recipe%20even%20though%20it%20took%20me%204%20tries!%20I%E2%80%99ve%20done%20all%20the%20trial%20and%20error%20for%20you,%20so%20your%20first%20attempt%20should%20be%20spot%20on.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20recipe%20itself%20ends%20up%20being%20pretty%20unusual%20%E2%80%93%20and%20in%20fact,%20it%E2%80%99s%20a%20fat-free%20cake%20recipe!%20I%20am%20aware%20that%20this%20is%20kind%20of%20irrelevant%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20going%20to%20smear%20it%20with%20cream%20cheese%20icing%20and%20crack%20some%20Creme%20Eggs%20on%20top%20anyway%E2%80%A6%20but%20it%E2%80%99s%20worth%20noting%20nonetheless.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAll%20you%20do%20is%20whip%20up%20some%20eggs%20with%20some%20sugar,%20then%20mix%20in%20the%20flour%20and%20cocoa%20powder%20%E2%80%93%20that%E2%80%99s%20it.%20Really%20easy.%20Just%20make%20sure%20you%20get%20your%20eggs%20nice%20and%20frothy,%20so%20there%E2%80%99s%20plenty%20of%20air%20in%20the%20mixture,%20as%20this%20helps%20the%20cake%20to%20rise%20%E2%80%93%20then%20be%20careful%20to%20fold%20your%20flour%20in%20gently%20so%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20knock%20it%20all%20out%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20I%E2%80%99d%20figured%20out%20the%20recipe,%20using%20the%20multicooker%20definitely%20made%20baking%20the%20cake%20easier.%20There%20was%20no%20faffing%20around%20with%20greaseproof%20paper%20to%20line%20a%20cake%20tin%20(I%20am%20genuinely%20still%20astounded%20by%20how%20non-stick%20the%20bowl%20is),%20no%20worries%20about%20the%20cake%20mix%20dribbling%20out%20of%20the%20bottom%20of%20a%20spring-form%20cake%20tin,%20no%20peering%20through%20the%20oven%20door%20to%20see%20if%20it%E2%80%99s%20ready%E2%80%A6%20just%20add%20the%20cake%20mix%20to%20the%20bowl,%20shut%20the%20lid,%20and%20let%20it%20do%20its%20thing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETrust%20in%20the%20machine!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20spending%20quite%20a%20while%20getting%20the%20cake%20itself%20sorted,%20I%20thought%20I%E2%80%99d%20play%20it%20safe%20with%20the%20decoration,%20and%20go%20for%20some%20Easter%20classics%20%E2%80%93%20Creme%20Eggs%20(which%20you%20can%20crack%20in%20half%20so%20they%20ooooze%20their%20lovely%20gooey%20interior%20all%20over%20the%20place),%20and%20mini%20chocolate%20eggs%20(always%20good%20for%20some%20spring-like%20colour).%20These%20are%20the%20two%20best%20parts%20of%20Easter,%20in%20my%20opinion.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20went%20for%20a%20cream%20cheese-based%20icing,%20because%20it%E2%80%99s%20slightly%20tangy%20and%20balanced%20out%20the%20super%20(super%20super)%20sweet%20toppings%20really%20well.%20If%20you%E2%80%99d%20prefer%20a%20seriously%20sickly%20sweet%20cake,%20just%20add%20a%20little%20extra%20icing%20sugar%20to%20the%20cream%20cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo,%20what%20do%20you%20reckon?%20Would%20you%20give%20my%20easy%20chocolate%20Easter%20cake%20a%20go%20in%20the%20Redmond%20multicooker?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20the%20eggs%20with%20the%20sugar%20for%20several%20minutes,%20until%20light%20and%20frothy.%20Add%20the%20sifted%20flour%20and%20cocoa%20powder,%20and%20gently%20fold%20through%20the%20egg%20mixture%20until%20well%20combined,%20being%20careful%20not%20to%20knock%20the%20air%20out%20of%20the%20mixture.%20Grease%20the%20bowl%20of%20the%20multicooker%20with%20a%20little%20butter,%20and%20pour%20in%20the%20cake%20mixture.%20Close%20the%20lid,%20and%20set%20the%20multicooker%20to%20%E2%80%98bake%E2%80%99,%20with%20the%20timer%20on%2050%20minutes.%20When%20the%20timer%20has%20finished,%20leave%20the%20cake%20in%20the%20multicooker%20for%20a%20further%2015%20minutes%20on%20the%20automatic%20%E2%80%98keep%20warm%E2%80%99%20function%20(the%20timer%20will%20count%20upwards%20to%20help%20you%20keep%20track).%20After%2015%20minutes,%20turn%20the%20cake%20out%20onto%20a%20cooling%20rack%20(be%20careful%20as%20the%20bowl%20will%20still%20be%20hot).%20Leave%20to%20cool%20completely.%20To%20make%20the%20cream%20cheese%20icing,%20cream%20together%20the%20butter%20and%20icing%20sugar%20until%20smooth%20and%20creamy.%20Add%20the%20cream%20cheese,%20and%20mix%20thoroughly%20to%20combine.%20Spread%20the%20cream%20cheese%20icing%20over%20the%20fully%20cooled%20cake,%20and%20decorate%20with%20the%20Creme%20Eggs%20and%20mini%20chocolate%20eggs.%20Store%20in%20the%20fridge.%20%203.2.2925%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
