Receta Easy-Does-It Fried Rice
Leftover rice is a perfect excuse to make fried rice, and this is a simple recipe for a favorite oriental comfort food. Add in any desired meat or shrimp to make a more hearty main dish. Two cooking options are possible with the same ingredients - see Methods 1 and 2 below included in directions.
Ingredientes
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 cup finely diced ham, pork, beef or shrimp
- 6 green onions including tops, sliced
- 4 cups cold cooked rice
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- Optional: salt and red pepper flakes
Direcciones
- METHOD 1: Heat oil in large skillet. Pour beaten eggs into skillet and cook until firm (don't scramble, just cook on one side til set and turn over); remove from heat. Cut egg into shreds. Return eggs to frying pan with meat and onion. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly for 3 or 4 minutes. Add the rice, soy sauce and sugar. Stir until rice is hot. Taste for seasonings and add optional salt and/or red pepper flakes as desired.
- METHOD 2: Heat oil in large skillet. Sauté rice in oil over medium heat about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Add meat and beaten eggs. Cook stirring frequently until eggs are set. Sprinkle onions, soy sauce and sugar, and stir until combined. Taste for seasonings and add optional salt and/or red pepper flakes as desired.
