  1. Brown hamburger and drain well. Pour into large pan with a cover (stainless pan works great). Put a layer of cabbage, a layer of potatoes; add in 1 c. water. Cook on low heat till potatoes are tender. Remove from heat and sprinkle grated cheese on top. Cover and let set till cheese is melted. Check water in this as cooking doesn't let it cook dry, but you do not want to have too much water either.
