Receta Edible Seattle's All-Butter Pie Crust
Nine inch pie crust recipe from Edible Communities, a network of regional food magazines. Excellent, super flaky and delicious.
Ingredientes
- 1 1/4 cups AP flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 stick cold unsalted butter
- Up to 6 tbs. ice cold water
- optional: 1 tbs. sugar
Direcciones
- Blend the flour with the salt (and sugar, if using).
- Cut the butter into little cubes, add to flour.
- Using a fork or a pastry cutter, blend the ingredients together until the mixture looks like crumbs and small peas.
- Add 4 tbs. or more water and blend with a fork, working the dough into a ball.
- Cover and refrigerate an hour or longer.
- Flour your workspace, roll the dough out to 11" diameter.
- Gently lift the dough and place in the pie pan.
- Fold and crimp the edges, or use a fork tine to decorate the edges. Use the tine to poke some holes in the dough.
- Place in the freezer while you prepare your filling.

- Pre-bake pie crust, if your recipe calls for it. Heat oven to 375 F and bake for 20-30 minutes.
