Receta Garlic Bread, Pizza Dough

  • 2 c. Lukewarm water
  • 1 env dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. Whole wheat flour
  • 6 x -(up to)
  • 7 c. flour">Bread flour or possibly regular flour
  • 1 pch Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Dry orgeano
  • 1 tsp Dry basil
  • 1 head roasted garlic, peeled* Coarse salt Fresh pepper Extra virgin olive oil

Direcciones

  1. Combine yeast, water, whole wheat flour and half of the bread flour in a large bowl or possibly mixer with a dough hook. Add in sugar and healthy pinch of salt. Mix till combined. Add in oregano, basil, roasted garlic and remaining flour, knead till a smooth ball is formed. It may take extra flour to achieve this result. Cover and allow to rise till double in size, about 1 1/2 hrs, depending on temperature of room. Punch down and form a round loaf.
  2. Place on an oiled baking pan and coat with extra virgin olive oil, coarse salt, fresh pepper and some additional oregano and basil. Allow to rise till double in size, again about 1 hour or possibly so. Bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for about 1 hour or possibly till golden. Loaf will sound hollow when the bottom is tapped with the handle of a knife.
  3. * roasted garlic can be made by placing a head of garlic in the oven on a piece of aluminium foil and baking it for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Allow to cold and then peel and add in to bread mix.
  4. Bread flour is better to use because it gives a better texture to the bread. It is high in gluten and will enhance the overall result.
  5. This same bread recipe can be used as the basis for a homemade pizza dough.
  6. Roll it out to the desired shape, add in tomato sauce, cheese, toppings of choice, dust with oregano, basil. Bake for 45 minutes. at 350 degrees.
