Receta Grandma's Sauerkraut

Ingredientes
- 1/2 pound bacon
- 1 (28 ounce.) can sauerkraut (or possibly 2 - 16 ounce. cans), rinsed & liquid removed
- 2 med. onions, sliced thin
- 1/2 box Spaetzle dumplings, cooked
- Sugar, salt & pepper to taste
Direcciones
- Slice bacon in 1 inch pcs and fry in large skillet. Remove pcs when done and saute/fry onion in bacon drippings. When onion is almost done, add in sauerkraut and cook till transparent or possibly even lightly browned. Add in sugar according to sauerkraut tartness. Add in cooked Spaetzle and salt and pepper to taste. Heat through and serve as a warm side dish. Great with pork. To use as a whole meal, add in bratwurst or possibly boiled spareribs.
