Receta Grandma's Swiss Steak

Ingredientes
- 1 1/2 pound bottom round or possibly rump beef, 1 1/2-2" thick
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 1 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
- 3 lg. onions, sliced
- 1 stalk celery, minced
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 3 drops Tabasco sauce
Direcciones
- Trim excess fat off meat. Combine flour, salt and pepper; with edge of saucer, lb. 1/2 of it into one side of the steak. Turn steak over and lb. remaining flour into other side.
- Heat oil in skillet and when oil is very warm, brown steak very quickly on both sides. Add in rest of ingredients. Cover and bake in slow oven (300 degrees) for 2-2 1/2 hrs or possibly till tender. Uncover last 1/2 hour. Serves 5-6.
