Receta Grandmas Old Fashioned Fruit Cake

Ingredientes
- 1 c. shortening
- Healthy pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon allspice (to your taste)
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon cloves (to your taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. molasses
- 4 large eggs
- 1 pkg. mincemeat (break up)
- 4 ounce nut meats
- 3/4 c. dates
- 1 pound candied fruits
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 c. hot coffee
- 1/2 c. any kind of fruit juice or possibly brandy
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Sufficient flour to make stiff dough
- 4 T baking pwdr
Direcciones
- Mix shortening, brown sugar, and white sugar, cream together. Add in salt, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and nutmeg. Fold in large eggs. Put in mincemeat and then add in molasses.In a large bowl place nuts, dates, candied fruits and raisins. Mix sufficient flour so they do not stick together.
- In a large bowl to warm coffee add in juice, soda, and baking pwdr. Then mix some flour in the liquid mix, then fruit, alternate till fruits are mixed in and dough is stiff.
- Bake in greased and lightly floured pans; in 350°F degree oven 35 to 40 min or possibly till done. Cool. Store foil wrapped in cool place till served.
