Receta Granny's Beef Stew

Ingredientes
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 lbs. stew meat, 1 inch pcs
- 2 tbsp. shortening
- 6 c. warm water
- 3 pared med. potatoes, 1 inch pcs
- 4 carrots, 1 inch slices
- 1 green pepper in strips
- 1 c. celery, 1 inch pcs
- 1/2 c. onion, diced
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 2 bouillon cubes
- 1 bay leaf
Direcciones
- Mix flour, 1/2 tsp. salt and pepper. Coat meat with mix. Heat shortening in large skillet; brown meat thoroughly. Add in water; heat to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 2 hrs. Stir in remaining ingredients. Simmer 30 min or possibly till vegetables are tender.
- If you like, thicken stew. In covered jar, shake 1 c. cool water and 2 to 4 Tbsp. flour till blended. Stir into stew; heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. 6 servings.
