Ingredientes
- 12 ounce lean grnd beef
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1 tsp chopped garlic
- 2 Tbsp. chili pwdr
- 2 tsp dry oregano leaves
- 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp dry mint leaves
- 1 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
- 1 x (28-oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 x (15-oz) can chickpeas or possibly
- 1 1/2 c. cooked dry-packaged chickpeas, rinsed, liquid removed (see note)
- 1 x (15-oz) can dark-red kidney beans, or possibly
- 1 1/2 c. cooked dry-packaged dark-red kidney beans, rinsed, liquid removed (see note)
- 2 tsp honey
- 6 c. cooked macaroni, hot Sliced green onions and tops, crumbled feta cheese, sliced Greek olives, as desired
Direcciones
- Saute/fry grnd beef, onion and garlic in large saucepan till grnd beef is browned, about 5 min; add in spices, herbs and cocoa and cook 1 to 2 min longer. Stir in tomatoes, beans and honey; heat to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 15 min; uncover and simmer till thickened, about 15 min. Spoon chili over macaroni in bowls; garnish with green onions, feta cheese and olives, as desired.
- Note: Any canned ordry-packaged bean variety may be substituted for those listed here.
- 8 servings (about 1 c. chili and 2/3 c. macaroni each)
