  • 1/3 cup plus 1 tsp granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • Canola oil for frying
  • Cinnamon sugar:
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup ground cinnamon
  • Maple glaze:
  • 1/2 lb. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp maple extract
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • Dash of salt
  • 1 tbsp brewed coffee (or 1 tbsp milk, if preferred)
