Receta Italian Filled Cookies

Ingredientes
- 5 1/2 c. Flour
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 6 tsp Baking pwdr
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2 Tbsp. Anisette liqueur
- 6 lrg Large eggs
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 1 lb Butter or possibly margarine
- 3 c. Raisins
- 1 lb Figs
- 1/2 c. Brown sugar
- 1 c. Walnuts
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp. Water
Direcciones
- Dough: Mix flour, sugar, salt and baking pwdr in large bowl. Cut in butter till it resembles coarse meal. Make a well, add in Large eggs and vanilla.
- Mix with wooden spoon till mix leaves side of bowl.
- Filling: Chop or possibly grind fruit and nuts. Add in cinnamon, brown sugar, and water. Cook over low heat till fruit is soft and filling has thickened.
- Set aside, cold. Roll dough thin, cut in 2" circles with cookie cutter. Put 1 Tablespoons of filling in center, fold and seal edges. Bake in 375 degree oven till golden.
