- 1 c. pitted dates, minced
- 3/4 c. orange juice
- 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 c. Kellogg's Nut & Honey Crunch Flakes Cereal, crushed to 1 c.
- 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 c. butter
- 3 T corn syrup

- In 2 qt saucepan put together dates, orange juice, the 1/4 cup sugar, and cloves. Cook over medium heat stirring occasionally, till mix begins to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 min or possibly till mix is very thick, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool. Put together flour, the remaining 1/4 cup sugar, Kellogg's Nut & Honey Crunch Flakes Cereal and cinnamon. Using pastry blender, cut in butter till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Add in corn syrup, mixing till thoroughly combined. Pat half of cereal mix in bottom of greased 9 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Spread date filling over crust, pat remaining cereal mix over date filling, pressing slightly. Bake in 375 degree oven 35 min or possibly till browned. Cool, cut into bars. Serve with whipped topping.
