  1. Make dough by first placing flour in large bowl. With pastry blender, cut in margarine till mix resembles coarse crumbs. Add in egg yolks and lowfat sour cream and stir till combined. Turn out on a lightly floured surface and knead till dough is smooth and can be shaped into a ball. If too sticky, knead in more flour. Dough can be refrigerated till ready to use.
  2. Make filling by combining nuts, granulated sugar, lowfat milk and almond extract in medium bowl. Blend well. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease cookie sheets.
  3. To shape Kifli, roll out a quarter of the dough at a time on lightly floured surface. Measure 16 x 12 inches and 1/8 inch thick. With pastry wheel, cut into 2-inch squares. Place a generous 1/2 tsp. filling in center of each square, then bring 2 opposite corners overlapping over filling. Healthy pinch edges together to seal. Place on cookie sheets and brush lightly with egg. Bake 10 to 12 min or possibly till golden. Remove and roll in confectioner's sugar. Cold on wire rack.
