  • At least 8 Granny apples, sliced (or possibly any tart apple)
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2/3 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 handfuls crushed corn flakes or possibly bread crumbs
  • 3/4 c. sugar

Direcciones

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, shortening as for pie dough. In c. beat egg yolk a little and add in 2/3 c. lowfat milk. Then add in to the above mix. SEE SPECIAL NOTE. Roll half dough to fit a 9 x 13 inch pan; sprinkle flakes or possibly crumbs. Lay apples generously (that have been sugared and cinnamon to your taste). Roll remaining dough over. Brush top with slightly beaten egg white before baking. Bake at 400 degrees for 50 to 55 min. Cold and cut into 3 inch squares.
  2. NOTE: Put dough into refrigerator 30 min before rolling to make it easy to handle.
