Receta New Hampshire Maple Syrup Pie

Ingredientes
- 1 c. maple syrup ( n.h. prefered)
- 1 c. warm water
- 1 tsp butter
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 x egg whites
- 2 x egg yolks
- 1 pch salt
- 1 Tbsp. maple syrup
- Â Â minced nuts
Direcciones
- Combine syrup, warm water and butter and bring to a boil. Mix cornstarch, salt and sufficient cool water to make a thin paste, add in egg yolks and beat well. Add in warm syrup mix gradually, return to heat and cook untill thickened, stirring constantly. Cold slightly. Pour into cooked pie shell. Beat egg whites stiff, adding slowly the Tbsp. of syrup. Pile on pie and brown in warm oven. Add in minced nut meats if you like to top.
