I have been on a tireless search for the last couple of months. Ever since I succeeded in hunting down the dinner plates for my Centura Cornflower, I have been hunting high and low for the ever elusive bowls to accompany my service for 4. It has been a quest fraught with peril and frustration. I've braved blistering winds and scorching deserts... Climbed to the highest room of the tallest tower... and... um, Wait! Sorry, wrong movie.
I have searched high and low, hither and yon, over hill, over dale, down dusty trails and back again.
Then FINALLY!
I have completed my quest, with the added bonus of 4 tea cups and saucers as well. (cause they were just sitting right there next to the bowls)
Not into Tea?…

%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENot%20into%20Tea?%20%20That's%20all%20right,%20I%20got%20your%20back.%20%20I%20found%205%20coffee%20cups%20in%20Suprema%20(produced%20much%20later%20than%20the%20Centura)%20for%20those%20who%20would%20rather%20have%20a%20cup%20o'%20Joe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20am%20not%20completely%20sure%20that%20they%20are%20Suprema,%20they%20may%20be%20actual%20%22Corningware%22%20but%20I%20know%20for%20certain%20that%20they%20are%20NOT%20Centura,%20because%20they%20have%20%22Microwave%20OK%22%20embossed%20on%20the%20bottom,%20and%20Centura%20cannot%20be%20used%20in%20the%20microwave.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20like%20the%20smaller%20bowls.%20%20They%20are%20solid%20white,%20and%20initially%20intended%20for%20the%20plain%20white%20coupe%20set,%20but%20since%20the%20tea%20cups%20are%20%22suppose%22%20to%20be%20solid%20white,%20I%20figured%20I%20can%20sneak%20in%20some%20plain%20white%20stuff%20here%20and%20there%20to%20break%20up%20the%20Cornflower,%20not%20to%20mention%20the%20Blue%20in%20general.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%206%205/8%20bowls%20that%20actually%20go%20with%20the%20service%20are%20interesting%20in%20that%20they%20are%20blue%20on%20the%20outside%20and%20white%20on%20the%20inside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEvidently,%20mine%20are%20the%20older%20ones,%20because%20they%20have%20a%20white%20bottoms.%20%20I%20guess%20later,%20the%20entire%20outside%20finish%20was%20blue.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo,%20this%20is%20my%20completed%20service%20for%204%20(with%20extras).%20%20I%20keep%20telling%20myself%20that%20I%20am%20stopping%20at%20this%20point,%20since%20it's%20REALLY%20the%20Corningware%20that%20I%20am%20interested%20in%20for%20cooking%20purposes.%20%20It%20remains%20to%20be%20seen%20as%20to%20whether%20I%20can%20control%20my%20obsessive%20compulsive%20self%20and%20refrain%20from%20purchasing%20any%20more%20Centura%20Pieces.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20in%20the%20interest%20of%20Retro-Coolness,%20I%20don't%20think%20it%20gets%20much%20better%20than%20this.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20case%20you%20missed%20it,%20I%20found%205%20coffee%20mugs...%20and%20while%20they%20may,%20or%20may%20not,%20be%20Corningware,%20they%20have%20still%20been%20lovingly%20adorn%20with%20that%20%22Oh,%20so%20recognizable%22%20little%20blue%20flower.%20%20Since%20I%20only%20need%204%20mugs%20to%20go%20with%20my%20dinner%20service,%20I%20have%20decided%20to%20host%20yet%20another%20giveaway%20and%20bestow%20this%20%22extra%22%20coffee%20mug%20on%201%20lucky%20winner.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhat%20better%20way%20to%20enjoy%20your%20morning%20coffee%20than%20with%20the%20bright%20and%20cheery%20Cornflower%20staring%20back%20at%20you?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGood%20luck!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhere%20is%20your%20Corningware??%20(Centura??)%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
