Receta Original Florida Key Lime Pie

Ingredientes
- 1Â 1/4 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 c. margarine -- softened
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Key lime juice -- fresh
- 14 ounce sweetened condensed lowfat milk
- 4 x egg yolks -- beaten
- 4 x egg whites
- 1 x lime -- thinly sliced
Direcciones
- CRUST: Combine graham cracker crumbs and sugar. Add in softened margarine to mix and blend well. Press mix on the bottom and up the sides of a 9" pie pan. Shell can be easily formed by sandwiching the mix between 2-9" pans (grease the upper pan so which it will release easily).
- Bake for 5-8 min in an preheated 3250F oven. Remove and let cold.
- FILLING: Use a mixer at low speed to blend the condensed lowfat milk and egg yolks. Slowly add in the lime juice Mix till it thickens. Pour into the cooled crust and chill overnight.
- TOPPING: Whip egg yolks at high speed till meringue consistency Cover pie, add in lime slices and return to refrigerator for another hour. Serve chilled.
