Receta Pennsylvania Dutch Baked Spareribs

Ingredientes
- 4 lb spareribs (4 to 5 lb) (2 strips)
- Â Â Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 med onion minced
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1Â 1/2 c. pared minced apple
- 2 c. soft bread cubes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp celery salt
- 1/4 tsp caraway seeds
- 1/4 tsp marjoram
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 3/4 c. apple juice divided
Direcciones
- Season both rib strips with salt and pepper. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large skillet saute/fry onion in butter till wilted. Mix into onion: apple, bread cubes and seasonings. Add in 1/4 c. apple juice to moisten the bread cubes. Place 1 strip of ribs on a rack in a roasting pan. Arrange bread mix over ribs. Cover with second strip of ribs; fasten with toothpicks or possibly skewers. Cover and bake 1 hour.
- Add in remaining apple juice to pan and mix with the drippings, generously baste ribs; recover and bake an additional 30 min (continue to baste ribs during this period). Reduce oven temperature to 300 degrees. Uncover and baste well return to oven for 15 min, uncovered. Remove from oven, place on platter, remove toothpicks/skewers and carve into 6 pcs. This is an impressive looking dish.
