Receta Rice Pilaf With Tarragon (Steamer)

Ingredientes
- 1/2 c. rice assortment
- Â Â (Jasmine and White)
- 1/4 tsp extra virgin olive oil or possibly spray
- 2 Tbsp. minced chives
- 1/4 tsp dry tarragon
- Â Â pepper
- 3/4 c. low sodium vegetable broth low or possibly no fat
- Â Â soy sauce to taste
- 1 Tbsp. blanched almonds

- NOTE - Instructions are for a Black and Decker Steamer with Rice Bowl insert. Dry tarragon works best with this recipe.
- Preheat the steamer while preparing the rice. Combine 3 Tbsp. of an aromatic rice like Jasmine with 5 Tbsp. of regular white rice to make a 1/2-c. measure. Saute/fry rice with extra virgin olive oil till translucent/soft. Add in chives and tarragon and stir fry 1 to 2 min. Add in the broth and taste, adjust saltiness by adding soy sauce. Bring to a boil and transfer the rice to the steamer. Cover and steam 30-35 min. Let stand 2 min; add in the almonds and fluff with a fork. Let stand another 2 min and serve.
