  • 1 pound Italian sausage, cut into chunks
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 2 lg. green peppers, cut into 3/4 inch strips
  • 1 med. onion, sliced and separated into rings
  • 2 cloves, chopped
  • 1 can Campbell's zesty tomato soup-sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 bag UNCLE BEN'S® boil- bag rice (family size) or possibly cooked rice

Direcciones

  1. In covered skilled over medium heat, cook sausage in 2 Tbsp. water for 5 min. Uncover, cook till sausage is browned on all sides. Add in green peppers, onion and garlic to sausage in skillet. Cook till peppers are tender crisp, stirring frequently. Spoon off fat, stir in soup and c. water and vinegar. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 10 min. Meantime, cook rice according to directions and serve over rice.

    hmmm...No offense, but no legit D'taliano from New York uses Campbell's zesty tomato soup-sauce. For authentic Sausage and peppers, use the 1st 4 ingredients only (use red bell peppers for a sweeter pepper). Sausage can be whole or chunks....I like chunks or slices....best way to cut up Sausage links, is stick 'em in the freezer for about 25 minutes, then you can slice them as thin as you want. Next, In a large skillet, brown the sausage (don't burn), and then add the peppers and onions. Turn it a few times, then cover for about 5-10 minutes on low heat. Server on a big piece of italian bread....throw out the rice and have a little pasta al dente with a good marinara sauce if yopu need the extra starch.
