Receta Scottish Mince Pies

Ingredientes
- 6 ounce grnd beef
- 1/4 lrg onion, chopped
- 1/8 tsp beef bouillon granules
- 1 c. water to cover
- 1Â 1/2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1/4 x recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
Direcciones
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Place the grnd beef in a large pot and pour in sufficient water to cover beef. Boil till beef is cooked through. Drain.
- Add in water to cover cooked beef, add in onions and sufficient bouillon granules to taste. Cook till the onions are soft. Season with salt and pepper to your taste and make sure the filling has sufficient bouillon to have a nice beef flavor.
- Combine the 1/4 c. water with the cornstarch and stir till smooth.
- Add in to the beef mix and cook till mix has thickened.
- Pour beef mix into the pastry crust and cover the top with pastry. Crimp edges and prick top.
- Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 30 min or possibly till crust is lightly browned.
- Scottish mince pies are delicious and filling meat pies served at dinners and usually accompanying potatoes (tatties), peas, and perhaps turnips (neeps). If you are out an about, you might get a pie supper, that includes the pie and some warm chips (french fries). The following recipe makes two pies.
