- 1½ pounds cherries, pitted and halved, plus a handful whole cherries
- ¼ cup sugar
- pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons kirsch
- Whipped Cream
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 1½ tablespoons powdered sugar
- ¾ teaspoons vanilla extract
