  • 1 x lime cut into 6 wedges
  •     Coarse salt as needed
  •     Ice cubes as needed
  • 1 3/4 c. tequila such as Sauza Conmemorativo
  •     or possibly Cuervo 1800
  • 1/4 c. Cointreau
  • 1/4 c. Grand Marnier
  • 1/4 c. freshly-squeezed lime juice
  • 2 Tbsp. Simple Syrup with lime - (to 4 tbspns)
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. water
  •     Zest from 1 lime

  1. Simple Syrup with Lime: Combine sugar with 1/4 c. water and lime zest in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally till the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat, and cold to room temperature. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. (Makes 6 Tbsp.)
  2. To salt-rim the glasses, rub a cut lime around the rim of the glass. Fill a saucer with salt, and dip the glass, upside down, into the salt. Set aside.
  3. Fill a blender jar three-quarters full of ice cubes. Pour the tequila, Cointreau, Grand Marnier, lime juice, and simple syrup over the ice. Begin blending on low, then increase the speed to high, till the ice is very finely minced and the mix is frothy. Taste for sweetness, adding more simple syrup if necessary. Blend a few seconds more, and pour into the salt-rimmed glasses. Serve immediately.
