Receta Strawberry Bread Pudding With Caramel Sauce

Ingredientes
- Â Â Nonstick cooking spray
- 4 c. (about 8 ounces) stale egg or possibly white bread cubes (1 inch)
- 2Â 1/2 c. (about 12 ounces) coarsely minced stemmed strawberries
- 2 c. half-and-half
- 4 lrg Large eggs lightly beaten
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1/3 tsp salt
- 1/2 c. prepared caramel or possibly butterscotch sauce, warmed (or possibly alternative chocolate rum sauce, recipe follows)
- Â Â Sweetened whipped cream (optional, see note)
- Â Â Whole strawberries (optional)
- Â Â Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Direcciones
- Lightly coat 9 inch-square baking pan with cooking spray; set aside.
- In large bowl, combine bread and strawberries, tossing to combine. Arrange in baking pan; set aside.
- In medium bowl, whisk together half-and-half, Large eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt till well-blended; pour over bread mix.
- Let stand 10 min, pushing bread down into egg mix occasionally.
- Bake 50 to 55 min or possibly till top is golden and knife inserted into center comes out clean.
- Serve hot with caramel sauce; garnish with whipped cream and whole strawberries, if you like.
- Note: To make 2 c. sweetened whipped cream, in mixer bowl beat together 1 c. whipping cream, 2 Tbsp. sugar and 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract (if you like), till soft peaks form.
