- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice, divided
- zest from 1 lemon
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 oz. vanilla flavored Greek yogurt or regular vanilla flavored yogurt
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups fresh berries (strawberries, hulled, stems removed and cut into small pieces, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries all work great)

%20and%20is%20filled%20with%20sweet,%20fresh%20berries%20that%20will%20light%20up%20your%20life.%20%20I%20promise.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20mister,%20who's%20disposition%20on%20any%20given%20day%20is%20rather%20lackluster,%20stormed%20into%20the%20nerve%20center%20(the%20kitchen)%20and%20dropped%20his%20paperwork%20a%20few%20inches%20shy%20of%20the%20table...he%20transports%20this%20same%20(I'm%20sure%20it's%20the%20same)%20stuff%20daily%20to%20and%20from%20the%20office...much%20like%20the%20%22C-%22%20%20student%20who%20carts%20his%20backpack%20to%20school%20and%20back%20each%20day,%20never%20once%20opening%20it%20to%20retrieve%20his%20assignments...anyway,%20back%20to%20my%20point,%20the%20mister%20drops%20everything%20on%20the%20floor,%20then%20he%20starts%20in%20with%20lots%20of%20wailing%20and%20gnashing%20of%20teeth%20about%20how%20he's%20had%20a%20crappy%20day,%20fist-pumping%20about%20idiots%20at%20the%20gas%20station%20and%20something%20about%20the%20homeless%20person%20who%20lives%20outside%20Global%20Headquarters%20and%20then,%20in%20mid-sentence,%20he%20stopped...he%20spied%20the%20cake.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESummer%20Berry%20Cake%20in%20all%20it's%20glory%20was%20no%20match%20for%20the%20mister...he%20downed%20three%20pieces%20before%20I%20could%20get%20out%20the%20words,%20%22You'll%20ruin%20your%20dinner%20and%20pick%20up%20that%20mess!%22%20%20Well,%20fat%20chance%20of%20that...he%20still%20managed%20to%20eat%20dinner%20and%20then%20another%20piece%20of%20cake%20afterwards...I%20rescued%20the%20remains,%20wrapped%20it%20tightly%20in%20plastic%20wrap%20and%20hid%20them%20in%20the%20back%20of%20the%20refrigerator%20for%20ME!%20%20The%20batter%20is%20incredibly%20thick,%20giving%20this%20cake%20a%20poundcake-like%20texture%20-%20very%20dense%20with%20a%20moist%20crumb%20and%20it's%20sweet-tangy%20from%20the%20Greek%20yogurt%20-%20you%20can%20use%20regular%20yogurt%20but%20why?%20%20Two%20cups%20or%20so%20of%20fresh%20berries...I%20used%20about%203/4%20cup%20of%20raspberries,%201/2%20cup%20of%20blueberries%20and%20a%201%201/4%20cups%20of%20cut%20up%20strawberries%20-%20any%20berries%20will%20work,%20and%20you%20could%20use%20all%20of%20the%20same%20kind%20of%20berries%20but%20it's%20so%20much%20better%20to%20have%20the%20mix.%20%20After%20it's%20baked%20and%20cooled%20a%20glaze%20is%20drizzled%20over%20the%20top...it's%20almost%20TOO%20good%20and%20definitely%20worthy%20of%20FIVE%20dangs...I%20can%20attest%20to%20the%20coma.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20325%20degrees.%20%20Grease%20and%20flour%20a%20Bundt%20pan.%20%20In%20a%20small%20bowl%20combine%20flour,%20baking%20soda,%20baking%20powder%20and%20salt.%20%20Whisk%20in%20zest%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20bowl%20of%20an%20electric%20mixer,%20cream%20together%20butter%20and%20sugar%20until%20light%20and%20fluffy,%20about%205%20minutes.%20%20Beat%20in%20the%20eggs,%20one%20at%20a%20time.%20%20Stir%20in%201%20tablespoon%20of%20lemon%20juice.%20%20Alternate%20adding%20the%20flour%20mixture%20and%20yogurt,%20mixing%20just%20until%20incorporated,%20beginning%20and%20ending%20with%20flour%20mixture.%20%20Gently%20fold%20in%20berries.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpoon%20batter%20into%20prepared%20pan%20and%20bake%20for%2060%20minutes%20or%20until%20toothpick%20inserted%20in%20the%20center%20comes%20out%20clean%20and%20dry.%20%20Allow%20cake%20to%20cool%20in%20pan%20for%20ten%20minutes%20then%20turn%20out%20onto%20wire%20rack%20to%20cool%20completely.%20%20Once%20cooled,%20whisk%20together%20the%20remaining%202%20tablespoons%20of%20lemon%20juice%20and%20powdered%20sugar%20to%20make%20the%20glaze.%20%20Drizzle%20glaze%20over%20top%20and%20sides%20of%20cake.%20%20Keep%20any%20leftover%20cake%20in%20the%20refrigerator,%20but%20I%20doubt%20you'll%20have%20leftovers!%20%20Serves%2010.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22Laughter%20is%20the%20best%20seasoning%20there%20is.%22%20%20~%20Barbara%20Kafka%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20year%20ago:%20%20Orange-Berry%20Muffins%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETwo%20years%20ago:%20%20Peanut%20Butter%20Cupcakes%20With%20Chocolate%20Ganache%20Icing%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
