  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 c. mashed ripe bananas (or possibly more)
  • 1 1/4 c. sifted flour (for bread, add in a little more flour)
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 c. walnuts (optional)

Direcciones

  1. Cream shortening and sugar till light. Add in one egg at a time, beat well after each addition. Stir in bananas. Sift together flour, soda and salt, add in to banana mix. Mix just till blended. Pour into greased 9x9x2 inch pan for cake or possibly 2 small loaf pans for bread. Bake in moderate 350 degrees oven for 35 to 40 min. Cool before cutting. For 9x13 inch cake pan, double the recipe.
