  1. Put water, salt, onions and caraway seeds in saucepan. Boil till onion is soft. Strain through a cheesecloth or possibly fine sieve. Cut cabbage in wedges, leaving portion of stem on each piece. Put in water after straining and cook till tender. Season with oil or possibly butter. May need to add in more water.
