%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20cooked%20up%20the%20maple%20cured%20bacon%20I%20made%20week%20before%20last.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20was%20CRAZY%20good%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEEK.%20Note%20to%20self,%20find%20a%20better%20window%20to%20take%20pictures%20in%20front%20of.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20also%20had%20biscuits%20I%20made%20from%20scratch.%20I%20always%20make%20the%20biscuits%20from%20scratch.%20I%20have%20a%20great%20recipe%20(listed%20below)%20that%20I%20use.%20I%20change%20the%20type%20of%20butter%20I%20use.%20Sometimes%20I%20use%20Kerrygold%20butter,%20today%20I%20used%20imported%20un-salted%20Normandy%20butter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20what%20I%20used%20today:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20feel%20free%20to%20use%20whatever%20butter%20you%20like.%20Blend%20this%20into%20the%20flour%20mixture%20till%20it%20resembles%20coarse%20crumbs.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESlowly%20add%203/4%20cup%20buttermilk.%20Stir%20it%20with%20a%20fork%20till%20just%20blended.%20Then%20get%20your%20hands%20dirty!%20Gently%20knead%20the%20dough%20till%20it%20is%20no%20longer%20sticks%20to%20the%20bowl%20and%20is%20smooth%20on%20the%20surface.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20my%20boys%20usually%20help%20me%20so%20we%20just%20pull%20off%20small%20handfuls%20of%20dough,%20gently%20roll%20them%20into%20balls%20and%20place%20them%20on%20a%20parchment%20lined%20baking%20sheet%20(this%20method%20makes%20them%20a%20little%20more%20rustic%20looking).%20Allow%20them%20to%20rest%20while%20your%20oven%20heats%20up%20to%20425%20degrees.%20Brush%20the%20tops%20with%20melted%20butter%20and%20bake%20them%20(depending%20on%20the%20size)%2010-15%20minutes%20or%20till%20golden%20brown.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20morning%20we%20topped%20them%20with%20my%20home%20made%20jam:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat%20I%20made%20last%20year%20during%20my%20month%20long%20canning%20binge.%20(We%20are%20just%20now%20starting%20to%20run%20low,%20despite%20me%20giving%20away%20many%20jars)%20We%20also%20topped%20them%20with%20some%20delicious%20local%20honey%20from%20Round%20Rock%20Honey%20.%20Eggs%20(eek%20I%20forgot%20to%20get%20a%20pic!)%20came%20from%20a%20friend%20who%20has%20property%20south%20of%20Seguin%20where%20he%20has%20chickens,%20ducks,%20goats,%20cows%20etc.%20The%20chicken%20eggs%20he%20gives%20us%20are%20some%20of%20the%20best%20we%20have%20ever%20had.%20Fruit%20also%20came%20from%20my%202010%20canning%20binge.%20Alec%20pulled%20out%20a%20a%20jar%20of%20my%20chunky%20spiced%20apple%20sauce.%20(made%20from%20organic%20pink%20lady%20apples)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20that%20was%20our%20Sunday%20breakfast.%20Have%20a%20great%20week!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
