I love food and my Mom used to say that l'd eat anything that didn't eat me first! That being said, I'm a tiny person, so if I taste too much while I'm cooking I don't have enough room left for the meal. Hence, I like recipes that don't require too much personalized adjustment. My Mom is a wonderful cook, who studied with James Beard, wrote a newspaper column called "Fabulous Fish", and starred in a local weekly cooking show (Brunswick, ME in the 1960's) In spite of Mom's patient training, my cooking style frustrates her, as I adapt most recipes to be much "lighter", using as little fat and sugar as possible. No, they may not be her authentic recipes, but they are the next generation, and as close in flavor and style as can be.
