My mother and my mother-in-law were both great cooks. My mother was a country cook and made wonderful home-cooked meals every day of her life. My mother-in-law was from the deep south and prepared many great Southern dishes. I learned most of what I know about cooking from these two ladies.

- 05 de Diciembre de 2017Thank you for being there! My mom passed and we never found her recipe box. We've looked high and low for recipes on how to make some of the family staples and your recipes are spot on for how she used to cook. You've saved our family history! Thank you so much for all you do!
- 13 de Diciembre de 2016Hello Fellow Southern Lady,
I am also from Ky. I grew up in Dry Ridge, went to school at UK and now live in Colorado. My dad (still in Ky.) asked for a jam cake with caramel icing for Christmas. I looked on the internet and your site was the first (and last) I clicked on. I found just what I wanted, just the kind of cake we ate back home. I'm going to make the cake for my (92 year-old) dad for Christmas. I was wondering, do you have any tips for shipping?
Thanks so much!

- 14 de Febrero de 2014It must be fate, that I found you! I have been looking and looking for Sour Dough Starter Recipes forever it seems. I had a starter, when I lived in Tennessee from the Home Demostration Club which had been started no one knows. Anyway, that was back in 1982, they called their starter (Herman or Hermie) it was great, I kept it going until 2008, which, had to let it go because of illness in the family. I felt I had given up on a member of my family. Now, I see you have the Bread and Starter listed. Thank-You, I will get started soon!

- 25 de Octubre de 2012Dear Southern Lady,
I use your recipes a lot. I'm always wondering...who eats all your trial dishes? You are average weight. How do you and your family eat so many yummy foods and stay healthy? I don't mean to get too personal, but I know what comfort food can do to the thighs--make my pants uncomfortable!!
