I began my culinary adventure at 30,000 feet as a flight attendant for a major airline. The First Class galley was my self-proclaimed testing kitchen. I marinated the chateaubriand in Cabernet, poached the eggs to perfection for the Benedict, chilled the salad plates, and turned napkins into whimsical shapes; all while balancing myself on a pair of three-inch stilettos... needless to say, it was a long time ago.
After my travels around the world, I started a small catering business in Los Angels. My routine consisted of cooking all morning and then heading to Beverly Hills to catch a noon class at Jane Fonda's workout studio. It was the height of the aerobic craze; leg warmers, lip gloss and lots of spandex. If I wasn't kicking I was cooking.
After a trip to France, I was hopelessly in love, with food! I attended the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco where upon graduating I headed back to Europe. Once again I embraced the European lifestyle of walking everywhere, eating smaller portions and resting for an hour everyday. When I got to the South of France and discovered the abundance of taste in the regional cuisine showcasing fresh vegetables, herbs, fish, fruits, and olive oil I had found my paradise. Life in the South of France was filled with the out of doors; swimming, hiking and cycling. Everyone seemed to be so fit, relaxed and full of vitality. I knew it was the life I wanted to create for myself, both in food and attitude.

The experience of traveling, and working in France has had a great deal to do with shaping my culinary prospective, but not entirely, there is a practical side and a health component to my cuisine. Working as a corporate food service director, my kitchen produced hundreds of meals everyday, all of which had to be prepared quickly and cost effectively. Cooking for my family means simple preparation and great taste. My dedication to living healthfully, the pure enjoyment of food, and my work as a food coach and lifestyle consultant, brings my food and fitness passions together. Using fresh ingredients that are mostly organic, always delicious and healthfully nutritious, and creating meals with ease will bring good health and pleasure to your life, just as it has mine.

I am co-owner of Poised, a private personal fitness and wellness studio in Menlo Park CA. We specialize in core fitness training, Pilates, and wellness consulting. We have been in business going on ten years and are preparing to open our next studio on the peninsula.
I work as a private chef as part of my wellness consulting. I develop menus, recipes, fitness and wellness plans for individuals and families.
I lecture, mostly to women’s groups, on how to feed their families healthy, delicious foods, how to entertain with ease, and how to Get Their Gourmet On without feeling terrified or overwhelmed.
