Receta Apple Walnut Upside Down Cake

Ingredientes
- 1/2 c. unsalted butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 c. grnd walnuts
- 1/2 c. lowfat milk
- 3 Tbsp. butter plus 1 tsp.
- 8 x apples (small) in 8 ths.
- 1/2 c. light brown sugar
Direcciones
- 1. For the topping, heat 1 tsp. butter in heavy skillet. Add in apples and saute/fry till caramelized. About 3 min.
- 2. Combine remaining 3 Tbsp. of butter and brown sugar in a small saucepan and heat till blended.
- 3. Butter a 10 inch pan and spread brown sugar mix in bottom. Arrange apple splices in pan in concentric circles. Set aside.
- 4. For cake, preheat oven to 350. Cream butter and sugar till fluffy. Add in Large eggs and beat till light. Add in vanilla.
- 5. Add in dry ingredients alternately with lowfat milk, mixing to combine. Spread batter proportionately over apples.
- 6. Bake till cake springs back when touched. About 1 hour.
- 7. Let stand 10 min and invert onto cake plate. Let cold. Serve slightly hot.
