  • 1/2 lb grnd round
  • 1/2 c. minced onion
  • 1/2 c. minced carrot
  • 1/3 c. barbecue sauce
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 dsh black pepper
  • 4 x Italian pizza crusts (such as Boboli) (4-oz)
  • 1/4 c. finely shredded provolone or possibly part-skim (1 oz) mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. minced fresh cilantro

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. 2. Cook beef, onion, and carrot in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat till browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well; return meat mix to pan. Stir in barbecue sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper; reduce heat, and simmer 5 min.
  3. 3. Place pizza crusts on a baking sheet. Divide beef mix proportionately among crusts, and sprinkle with cheese. Bake pizzas at 450 degrees for 12 min or possibly till cheese melts. Sprinkle pizzas with cilantro. Cut each pizza into 4 wedges.
  4. Yield: 16 servings (serving size: 1 wedge).
