Receta Basic Bean Soup

Ingredientes
- 1 lb dry beans
- 1/2 lb minced ham
- 8 c. water
- 1/4 c. ketchup
- 12 x baby carrots salt and pepper to taste
- 1 c. minced onion
Direcciones
- In a large bowl, combine the beans with water to cover and let soak overnight. This is not the water you cook them with unless you wish to.
- In a large pot over medium high heat, combine the soaked beans with water, carrots, onion and ham. Add in more water to cover all, if necessary.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let simmer for 4 to 6 hrs.
- Add in ketchup just to get desired color. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- This is basic bean soup. It is easy to assemble and tastes great also.
- Try adding other vegetables to taste if you like.
