  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp. grated orange or possibly lemon peel

  1. Measure flour and baking pwdr into a bowl. Add in butter with pastry blender or possibly fingers into flour mix till consistency of cornmeal. Add in powdered sugar and orange or possibly lemon peel. Press mix proportionately onto the bottom of an 8-inch square baking pan. Pre-bake crust for about 7 min at 350 degrees.
  2. Spread chocolate chips over warm crust. As soon as chips heat, spread chocolate proportionately over crust. If chips do not heat quickly, put pan back in the oven for a few min.
  3. Combine all other ingredients in a bowl. Mix thoroughly. Pour mix over chocolate layer. Bake at 350 degrees for about 2 min or possibly till lightly browned. Cold. Dust with powdered sugar. Cut into squares. Makes about 20 bars.
