Receta Boiled Raisin Cake (Jesus Cake)

Ingredientes
- 1 c. raisins
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cloves
Direcciones
- Grease 8 inch square pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put together raisins, shortening and 1 cup water. Heat to boiling point, reduce heat and simmer covered for 5 min. Let cool to room temperature. Sift dry ingredients together.Beat egg in a medium size bowl, beat in remaining 1/2 cup water and cooled raisins liquid. Fold in dry ingredients gradually. Beat till smooth. Stir in cooled raisin mix. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 35-40 min. (This can be doubled and bake in jelly roll pan for bars.) Frost with powdered sugar frosting.
