  • 4 x halibut steaks - (6 to 8 ounce ea)
  • 1/2 c. reduced-salt soy sauce
  • 2 tsp finely-minced fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 c. dry sherry
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. minced green onion
  • 2 med garlic cloves pressed or possibly chopped

  1. Seafood Alternatives: salmon, tunaRinse the halibut briefly with cool water; pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Combine all the remaining ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce the heat and simmer on low for 5 min. Strain and chill.
  3. Place the halibut steaks in a shallow non-aluminum pan and cover with the marinade. Chill for 15 min.
  4. Remove the steaks from the marinade and drain. Place the steaks on an oiled broiler pan 4 to 5 inches from heat and cook 8 to 10 min per inch of thickness, turning halfway through cooking time. Garnish with additional green onion and roasted sesame seeds (optional).
  5. This recipe yields 4 servings.
