- 1 cup shredded Swiss or Gruyere (or ½ cup of each)
- 1 quantity Béchamel Sauce (recipe follows)
- Salt and pepper
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup all purpose flour
- 2 ¼ cups warm whole milk
