Receta Butter Nut Balls (M Stewart)

Ingredientes
- 2 stk unsalted butter, at room temperature, (1 c.)
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 2 x Large eggs, separated
- 1 tsp Grated lemon rind
- 2 1/2 c. All-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp. Lowfat milk
- 1 c. Walnuts, fine-minced
- 12 x Candied cherries, halved (to 15)
Direcciones
- MAKES 24 TO 36 COOKIES
- In a mixing bowl, cream the butter; add in the sugar gradually, beating well.
- Add in the egg yolks and rind and beat till fluffy. Stir in half the flour.
- Add in the lowfat milk and beat well, then add in the remaining flour. Knead slightly to blend.
- Notes: "Buttery lemon-flecked dough rolled in minced walnuts and topped with a piece of candied cherry. We make them with red and green decorations."
