Ingredientes

2 1/4 c. Flour
1 1/3 c. Sugar
3 tsp Baking pwdr
1 tsp Salt
1/2 c. Vegetable shortening
1/4 c. Maraschino cherry juice
16 x Maraschino cherries
1/2 c. Lowfat milk
4 lrg Egg whites
1/2 c. Minced walnuts

Direcciones

Preheat oven to 350 F. Sift together the flour, sugar, baking pwdr, and salt. Add in the vegetable shortening, cherry juice, cherries and the lowfat milk and beat for 2 min. Add in 1/2-2/3 c.(4 large) unbeaten egg whites and beat 2 min more. Then fold in1/2 c. of minced nuts. Pour into two greased and floured round cake layer pans and bake for 30-35 min. Frost with pink Seven Minute Frosting (it's recipe is in this file).
NOTES : MUST use 7-Minute Frosting on this cake and color it pink.
