Ingredientes

  • 4 lb dark sweet cherries
  • 1 lb granulated sugar
  • 3/4 c. dark rum

Direcciones

  1. Prepare 6 eight-oz jars.
  2. Wash, stem and pit cherries. In heavy saucepan, combine cherries and sugar and cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hrs. Watch carefully and and stir often to prevent scorching. Remove from heat, let cold 5 min and stir in rum.
  3. Pack cherries into prepared jars. Cover and seal. Process in boiling water bath 5 min.
  4. Store in cold dark place for 1 month before using.
  5. This recipe yields 6 half-pints.
  6. Yield: 6 half-pints
