Receta Chewy Oatmeal Spice Bars

Ingredientes
- 3/4 c. Firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. Granulated sugar
- 4 Tbsp. Margarine
- 3/4 c. Apple butter* or possibly apple sauce
- 2 x Egg whites or possibly 1 egg
- 2 Tbsp. Skim lowfat milk
- 2 tsp Vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Salt, (optional)
- 1/4 tsp Grnd nutmeg, (optional)
- 3 c. QUAKER Oats (quick or possibly old fashioned, uncooked)
- 1 c. Raisins or possibly diced dry mixed fruit
Direcciones
- Heat oven to 350iF. Beat together sugars and margarine till well blended.
- Add in apple butter, egg whites, lowfat milk and vanilla; beat well. Add in combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg; mix well. Stir in oats and raisins; mix well. (Dough will be moist.) Spread dough onto bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake 25 to 30 min or possibly till edges are light golden. Cold completely before cutting into bars. Store tightly covered.

- Note: For a no-fat-added cookie, omit margarine and increase apple butter to 1 c.; and continue as recipe directs.
