20a%20quick%20stop%20at%20the%20Eurasie%20store,%20a%20quicker%20stop%20at%20the%20garden%20store%20and%20still%20got%20to%20the%20appointment%20on%20time.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20took%20the%20motorway%20back.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20got%20to%20our%20exit%20and%20there%20was%20a%20sign%20advising%20us%20that%20there%20could%20be%20a%20problem%E2%80%A6.%20Nicely%20vague.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20seen%20a%20photo%20of%20the%20bridge%20over%20the%20river%20and%20new%20it%20was%20open,%20so%20we%20assumed%20it%20was%20other%20routes%20of%20the%20exit%20that%20were%20a%20problem.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20bridge%20was%20open%20(I%20think).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20get%20to%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20actually%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20get%20more%20than%20a%20kilometer%20or%202%20in%20any%20direction.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20tried.%20And%20tried%E2%80%A6.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20called%20our%20neighbor%20and%20asked%20her%20to%20let%20our%20dog%20out%20while%20we%20calmly%20and%20quietly%20discussed%20our%20options.%20Drive%20back%20to%20Bordeaux?%20Drive%20the%20same%20distance%20in%20the%20other%20direction?%20Do%20you%20remember%20where%20other%20bridges%20are?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20decided%20to%20drive%20back%20towards%20Bordeaux.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAt%20the%20exit%20that%20we%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20get%20to%20from%20the%20other%20direction%20earlier%20there%20were%20no%20warning%20signs.%20We%20got%20off.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%20was%20flooding%20all%20around%20us%20but%20the%20road%20was%20high%20enough.%20We%20crossed%20the%20river%20and%20got%20within%20a%20half%20kilometer%20of%20where%20we%20had%20been%20sent%20on%20the%20detour%20earlier%20%E2%80%93%20but%20on%20the%20other%20side.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20followed%20the%20detour%20signs,%20got%20up%20to%20high%20ground%20and%20back%20on%20Google%20maps%E2%80%A6%20But%20only%20for%20a%20few%20minutes.%20We%20were%20back%20in%20familiar%20territory,%20about%2040%20minutes%20from%20home.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%E2%80%A6.%20We%20were%20out%20after%20curfew%20!!!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFortunately%20no%20one%20saw%20us.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGuapa%20was%20very,%20very%20happy%20to%20see%20us.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20really%20was%20sad%20to%20see%20so%20many%20farms,%20barns,%20and%20houses%20flooded%E2%80%A6.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
