%20I%20posted%20a%20photo%20on%20Instagram%20of%20the%20dessert%20I%20made%20to%20take%20to%20our%20family%20Christmas%20dinner%20and%20everyone%20begged%20for%20the%20recipe.%20%20I%20promised%20I%E2%80%99d%20post%20it%20before%20the%20following%20Christmas,%20and%20here%20we%20are!%20%20Signed,%20sealed,%20and%20delivered.%20%20Most%20people%20who%20know%20me,%20know%20that%20my%20most%20favorite%20flavor%20combination%20in%20the%20entire%20world,%20year%20round,%20is%20chocolate%20(preferably%20dark)%20and%20peppermint.%20%20This%20super%20decadent%20bundt%20cake%20is%20a%20showstopper%20for%20sure.%20%20It%E2%80%99s%20studded%20with%20chocolate%20chips%20on%20the%20inside,%20and%20drenched%20in%20a%20dark%20chocolate%20peppermint%20glaze%20and%20crushed%20candycanes.%20%20The%20beautiful%20thing%20is%20that%20it%20starts%20out%20with%20a%20couple%20of%20short-cuts%20so%20it%E2%80%99s%20incredibly%20easy,%20too.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20mean,%20look%20at%20that.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFirst,%20for%20the%20shortcuts.%20%20We%E2%80%99re%20going%20to%20use%20a%20cake%20mix,%20but%20we%E2%80%99re%20going%20to%20ignore%20all%20of%20the%20instructions%20and%20doctor%20that%20thing%20up%20really%20well.%20The%20pudding%20mix%20makes%20it%20extra%20tender%20and%20delicious.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20mixing%20bowl,%20combine%20the%20wet%20ingredients.%20%20We%E2%80%99re%20adding%20milk,%20lots%20of%20eggs,%20oil,%20vanilla,%20peppermint,%20and%20full%20fat%20sour%20cream.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20that%20into%20the%20mixing%20bowl%20with%20the%20cake%20mix%20and%20pudding%20mix%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eand%20beat%20it%20up%20until%20it%E2%80%99s%20silky%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20add%20in%20some%20chocolate%20chips.%20%20I%20like%20to%20give%20mine%20a%20rough%20chop%20because%20I%20like%20how%20the%20different%20sizes%20of%20chocolate%20pieces%20distribute%20so%20well%20throughout%20the%20batter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20it%20up%20and%20then%20let%20it%20cool%20on%20a%20metal%20rack.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20your%20cake%20is%20in%20the%20oven,%20make%20your%20Chocolate%20Peppermint%20Ganache.%20%20You%E2%80%99ll%20heat%20up%20some%20heavy%20cream%20and%20pour%20it%20over%20chocolate%20and%20butter%20until%20it%20makes%20a%20beautiful%20glaze.%20%20Now,%20ganache%20changes%20consistencies%20depending%20on%20temperature.%20%20It%20will%20be%20very%20runny%20when%20you%20first%20combine%20it%20so%20you%E2%80%99ll%20want%20to%20give%20it%20plenty%20of%20time%20to%20cool%20off%20and%20thicken%20before%20you%20drizzle%20it%20over%20the%20cake%20so%20it%20will%20stay%20on.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20actually%20like%20to%20take%20a%20silicone%20brush%20and%20very%20lightly%20brush%20on%20some%20of%20the%20really%20runny%20ganache%20so%20it%20covers%20most%20of%20the%20surfaces.%20%20Then%20as%20it%20thickens,%20I%20drizzle%20on%20the%20rest.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20it%E2%80%99s%20set%20just%20a%20bit,%20sprinkle%20on%20some%20crushed%20candy%20canes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20may%20have%20some%20extra%20ganache.%20%20Use%20it%20to%20drizzle%20over%20servings,%20or%20ice%20cream.%20%20And%20speaking%20of%20ice%20cream,%20definitely%20serve%20this%20rich%20chocolatey%20deliciousness%20with%20either%20some%20vanilla%20ice%20cream%20or%20some%20whipped%20cream.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChocolate%20Peppermint%20Budnt%20Cake%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20by%20Our%20Best%20Bites%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecocoa%20powder%20for%20dusting%20pan%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20box%20Devil%E2%80%99s%20Food%20Cake%20mix%20(I%20prefer%20Duncan%20Hines)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdditional%20ingredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECrushed%20candy%20canes%20(2-3)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20serving:%20whipped%20cream%20or%20ice%20cream%20*for%20extra%20peppermint-y%20goodness,%20add%20a%20little%20peppermint%20extract%20to%20your%20sweetened%20%20whipped%20cream%20while%20whipping.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees.%20%20Butter%20a%20budnt%20pan%20(make%20sure%20to%20get%20the%20inside%20center%20as%20well)%20and%20then%20dust%20with%20cocoa%20powder,%20covering%20all%20sides%20and%20then%20shaking%20out%20excess.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20cake%20mix%20and%20dry%20pudding%20mix%20in%20the%20bowl%20of%20a%20stand%20mixer.%20%20In%20a%20small%20mixing%20bowl,%20whisk%20together%20eggs,%20sour%20cream,%20oil,%20milk,%20vanilla,%20and%20peppermint%20until%20smooth.%20%20With%20mixer%20running,%20add%20liquid%20ingredients%20to%20cake%20mix%20and%20beat%20until%20combined.%20%20Scrape%20down%20sides%20of%20bowl%20and%20then%20beat%20for%202%20minutes%20on%20medium%20high%20speed.%20%20Add%20chocolate%20chips%20and%20stir%20until%20combined.%20%20Pour%20batter%20into%20budnt%20pan%20and%20bake%20for%2045-50%20minutes,%20until%20a%20skewer%20comes%20out%20with%20moist%20crumbs%20attached.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGlaze:%20While%20cake%20is%20baking,%20place%20chocolate%20chips%20and%20butter%20in%20a%20bowl.%20%20Heat%20cream%20until%20hot%20and%20bubbly%20and%20then%20pour%20over%20chocolate.%20%20%20Let%20sit%20for%202-3%20minutes,%20then%20add%
