Receta Cinnamon Apple Noodle Kugel

Ingredientes
- 400 gm Noodles, up to 450
- 700 gm Golden brown delicious apples
- 6 Tbsp. Margarine
- 6 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 c. Minced nuts
- 1/3 c. Dark raisins
- 1 tsp Grated lemon peel
- 1 pch Salt
- 4 x Large eggs, (separated)
- 1 tsp Vanilla
Direcciones
- Cook the noodles for 5 min in boiling salted water till barely tender.
- Drain, rinse in cool water and drain thoroughly. Peel and slice apples.
- Heat 2 Tbsp. of margarine in a frying pan. Add in sliced apples and brown well on both sides. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and set aside in a separate dish.
- Heat the remaining margarine and pour 3 Tbsp. of it unto the noodles.
- Add in the lemon, raisins, nuts and salt.
- Beat the egg whites till soft peaks form. Add in the 4 Tbsp. of sugar, and mix in the yolks. Mix this together with the noodles.
- Put half the mix in the bottom of a greased 33x23x5 baking pan Spread the apples on top and cover with the rest of the noodles. Drizzle the remaining margarine on top and sprinkle with a little cinnamon and sugar.
- Bake, covered for 30 min.
- Uncover and bake for another 20 min.
- It is well worth the effort!
