It is pizza time at Carolina HeartStrings! Alessa and I decided that for the month of August we would be as creative with the pizza theme as we could and that included our Saturday sweet treat post. I recently discovered (and believe me that is not a beneficial thing for my thighs) a new pizza place that makes to order whatever your heart desires or you can of course choose some of their wonderful creations from the menu to take home and bake fresh. They have a delicious dessert pizza that is made with lots of cinnamon, sugar and when it bakes it smells just like a cinnamon roll. Heaven help me! I decided that I needed to re-create this tasty treat. The family is thrilled.

Ingredientes

Cost per serving $0.39 view details
  • 2 cans (each 8 ounces) crescent rolls
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1 1/2 stick of butter, softened at room temperature
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare a pizza pan (12 inch) with cooking spray or use a pizza stone (12 inch) if you have one.
  2. Open the crescent rolls and place them on the pizza stone in a rough circular shape so that the edges of each rectangle are slightly overlapping. This will allow you to flatten the crescent roll crust into the pizza pan shape and close all the seams.
  3. In a mixing bowl combine the brown sugar, white sugar, oats and cinnamon. Cut in the butter so that the mixture is crumbly, like a streusel topping. Place it on the crescent roll crust, making sure that you have spread it evenly and leaving a small 1/4 inch edge all around. Place in oven and bake for 20 minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl mix the powdered sugar and milk. You want this to be thick so just dribble your milk in until you get the desired consistency. Add powered sugar as needed. Set aside.
  5. Remove the pizza from the oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle the icing over the entire pizza or cut slices and let everyone do their own.
