  1. In a 5 qt casserole, combine sugar, syrup, water, and pecans. Mix well. Microwave on high for 4 min. Stir. Microwave on high for 5 to 6 min or possibly till mix reaches soft ball stage. (Small amount forms soft ball when dropped into cool water) or possibly (238 degrees on candy thermometer). Don't PUT CANDY THERMOMETER IN MICROWAVE OVEN.
  2. Stir in butter and vanilla. Whip till mix gradually changes to lighter color and becomes creamy. Drop by tablespoonful on buttered foil. Push mix from Tbsp. with a tsp. to hasten dropping before praline becomes too hard.
  3. Tips: If mix should crystallize before you have a chance to drop onto buttered foil, add in a Tbsp. of boiling water and beat again.
