Receta Date Nut Bran Bread

Ingredientes
- 1 c. dates
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 c. bran or possibly oat bran cereal
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 tbsp. baking soda
- 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1 1/2 c. white flour
- 1/2 c. minced nuts
Direcciones
- Combine first 5 ingredients. Stir till butter melts. Cold. Fold in salt, egg and baking soda. Add in flours and nuts. Stir well. Spoon into a greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 min or possibly till a pick inserted near the center pulls out clean. Makes 1 loaf.
