  1. Beat egg yolks well with rotary beater.
  2. Beat in buttermilk and soda.
  3. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir into buttermilk mixture
  4. Beat in butter or oil. Gently mix in beaten egg whites.
  5. Cook in a lightly buttered skillet until golden brown
  6. NOTE: To make this recipe a little healthier, we reduce the egg yolks to 2, use lowfat buttermilk leave out the salt, and use 2 Tbsp. canola oil (Puritan) instead of butter.
